LANDSCAPE CREW LEADER

DESCRIPTION: Landscape maintenance and installation company, servicing and commercial customers. The crew leader will be responsible for leading a team in a maintenance route as well as assisting in and helping to manage landscape installations. As a crew leader you will be working in the field along side crew members.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct crew members and assist with edging, mulching, trimming, and other maintenance duties.
  • Install plant material,prune, and other necessary duties.
  • Ensure work is performed to the customers and companies expectations.
  • Operate and instruct in the use of basic landscape equipment and tools.
  • recognize areas for improvement/correction in the landscape and communicate this to the manager.
  • Diagnose and repair common equipment problems.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment.

Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience.

Requirements: All applications must have the following:

  • Must have verifiable experience working with other landscape companies.
  • Must have experience as a crew leader in some capacity with another landscape company.
  • Knowledge of plant material, weed, insect, pest control and overall landscape maintenance practices.
  • Capable of truck and trailer operations.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and prioritize.
  • Ability to manage/assist others in task completion.

ARBORIST CLIMBER:

  • Performs all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader or designated supervisor.
  • Participates in all job site safety meetings.
  • Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Understands and demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of the ground persons position.
  • Learns to identify the basic trees and shrubs common to the service area.
  • Develops a basic understanding of tree growth.
  • Demonstrates tree risk assessment skills.
  • Demonstrates equipment inspection skills.
  • Demonstrates proper application and approved knots.
  • Demonstrates and practices proper climbing techniques and procedures.
  • Demonstrates and practices proper pruning and removal skills.
  • Demonstrates and practices proper rigging techniques.
  • Assists with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
  • Learns and understands the dangers associated with electrical hazards.
  • Maintained assigned company gear.
  • Reports for duty at the designated time each day.
  • Follows directions from the designated supervisor or crew leader.
  • Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company policies.
  • Participates in all safety training sessions offered, ask questions, and improved job safety skills.
  • Communicates well with all crew members and crew leaders.
  • Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for upward mobility.

MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES:

  • Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the crew leader or designated supervisor, arborist representative, or manager.
  • Cundiff's Tree Care has been in business over 70 years and can give the opportunity for upward mobility within the company.
  • Having a CDL is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate would have at least 1+ years experience, climbing with rope and saddles in the tree care industry.

COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly wages are based upon experience.

ARBORIST GROUND PERSON:

DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs all required ground duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader or designated supervisor.
  • Participates in all job site safety briefings.
  • Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Assist with the implementation of work zone safety procedures such as the placement of cones and signs, and the provision of flagging services.
  • Properly utilizes hand tools associated with tree and landscaping work.
  • Uses and maintains chainsaws safely.
  • Assists in conducting a tree risk assessment prior to working on any tree.
  • Assists with the implementation of the tree felling procedures.
  • Assists climbers and crew leaders working on the ground and aloft.
  • Operates the chipper and all other equipment safely.
  • Assists with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties.
  • Learns and understands the dangers associated with electrical hazards.
  • Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day.
  • Follows directions from the crew leader or designated supervisor.
  • Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company policies.
  • Participates in all company safety sessions offered, ask questions, and improves job safety skills.
  • Communicates well with all crew members and crew leader.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid drivers license.
  • 3 years experience in tree care or landscaping.

LAWN CARE SPECIALIST:

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a motivated individual in the lawn/turf care profession to help us provide the following services to our customers.

  • Organic, hybrid lawn care services.
  • Seeding and new lawn services.
  • Soil analysis and aeration.
  • Weed control, insect control, and grub management.
  • Custom blend fertilization.
  • Lawn disease treatment.

YOUR DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitoring, diagnosing, and treating insect, disease, weed, and other conditions on clients lawns.
  • Selecting the most appropriate product or treatment to be utilized for each problem.
  • Maintaining excellent customer relations by providing comprehensive, thorough information about their landscape.
  • Completing diagnosis reports.
  • Representing Cundiff's in a professional manor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You should have experience running liquid and granular application equipment. This is a position in which extensive field time will be spent diagnosing problems and treating properties. This often requires heavy lifting in various weather conditions.Ideal candidate will have:
  • A degree in turf, entomology, Plant science, Horticulture, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two to three years experience in turf applications and maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose turf grass problems.
  • Ability to anticipate what will occur under specific conditions (i.e. soil conditions, climate.)
  • Must be able to work independently and be self directed.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Posses a valid drivers license.
  • Posses a commercial applicators license or be able to obtain one.
